The Boys & Girls Club of Truckee Meadows is all about creating a place where every kid feels safe and connected: a place to belong and a place to become. This is that place for nearly 14,000 youth in 40+ locations across Reno, Sparks, Fernley, Ely, Tonopah, Panaca, and Winnemucca. We are a place for kids to go before and after school, during school breaks, and during the summer to grow beyond the classroom. We help kids and teens achieve great futures by providing a safe and fun space, an engaging Club experience, and caring professionals to guide them along the way.
One of the reasons the Boys & Girls Club is different from other out-of-school programs is that we are all about providing special, structured programming around our Club’s core values.
Character & Leadership Development
Sports Fitness & Recreation
Health & Life Skills
This specialized and structured learning helps our members develop skill sets and knowledge in areas not addressed at school or in some homes. By teaching these specific values, we are creating a place for our members to become the best version of themselves. We teach financial literacy, the value of volunteerism, self-care, and hygiene, and so much more. The Club brings in community partners in art, STEM, finance, and safety to inspire and further enrich the programming we offer our members.
We also act as a resource center for our families and the community. Free meals and basic needs supplies are provided to all those who need these resources. We proudly offer college scholarships to teens, and no youth is ever turned away from the Club due to an inability to pay.
Finally, the Club is home to several sports leagues, including Teeny Tots (soccer basketball, T-ball, and gymnastics) for 3-5-year-olds, K-8th grade boys and girls’ basketball, flag football, specialized sports clinics, and more!
